8. Codayak Desktop Application

Codayak is a free Windows application published by Techniche Labs Pty Ltd, available from our website, GitHub and the Microsoft Store. This section explains what Codayak does and does not send to us.

What Codayak sends to Techniche Labs

Once at startup and at most once every 24 hours after that, Codayak checks our update service for a newer version. The request carries exactly two values: a random install identifier (a GUID generated when Codayak is installed, stored in your local settings file, and derived from nothing about you or your machine) and the Codayak version number. We use these requests to tell Codayak whether an update is available and to count active installations. The identifier cannot identify you, we hold nothing that links it to you, and your network address is not stored. Deleting your Codayak settings file discards the identifier permanently. If you are offline, the check simply does not happen.

What Codayak does not send to us

Codayak does not collect or transmit to Techniche Labs your name, email address, files, source code, prompts, conversations, meeting recordings or transcripts, machine name, locale, repository paths or API keys.

Services you connect Codayak to

Codayak works with AI and other services that you choose and configure with your own accounts and API keys — for example Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, Google, MiniMax, Moonshot, Zhipu, speech, image, video and web-search providers, Azure DevOps, GitHub and databases you connect it to. When you use these features, your prompts, code, files and other content are sent directly from your computer to those services. Techniche Labs does not receive, proxy or store that traffic. Those services may be located outside Australia and handle your data under their own privacy policies and terms, which you should review.

Data stored on your computer

Codayak keeps its settings, logs, file backups, learning memory, meeting transcripts, generated files and session history on your own computer (in your local application-data folders, your Documents folder and your repository's .coda folder). These files are never transmitted to Techniche Labs; you can view, copy or delete them at any time. Uninstalling Codayak does not delete files you created.

Team Mode

If you use Team Mode, tasks, code and files are shared directly between the participating computers over an encrypted connection, at your direction. Nothing passes through or is stored by Techniche Labs.

Microsoft Store

If you install Codayak from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft may collect installation and diagnostic information under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. We receive only aggregate, non-identifying reports from Microsoft.

9. Updates to Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via email or website notice.

10. Complaints

If you have a privacy complaint, please contact us first at contact@technichelabs.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (www.oaic.gov.au).
